CCII&NIOS has been playing a leading role in the development of coal mining industry and
improvement of occupational safety in China.

 

 

 


 

Mr.Li Yizhong, Administrator of SAWS, gave his good comments on accomplishments of the CCII&NIOS at the meeting with the management of the CCII&NIOS.

The National Institute for Occupational Safety (NIOS) was officially set up at CCII in 2004. Mr. Wang Xianzheng, Vice Administrator of SAWS and Mr. Fan Weitang, Chairman of China National Coal Association (CNCA), unveiled the
shingle of NIOS at inauguration ceremony.   

   

 

    
Mr. Zhao Tiechui, Vice Administrator of SAWS, meeted with foreign participants during the “International Workshop on Investment Opportunities in CMM Projects in China”. Mr.Huang Shengchu, resident of the CCII&NIOS, joined the meeting.

Mr. Wang Xianzheng and Mr.Wang Dexue, Vice Administrators of SAWS, attended CCII & NIOS Workshop on Occupational Safety Study Project.

Zhao Anqing, Vice Administrator of SAWS, visited CCII&NIOS.

Liang Jiakun, Vice Administrator of SAWS, attended the foundation stone laying ceremony of Information Center Building in CCII&NIOS.

Vice Ministers and officials from China National Coal Association and the Ministry of Science and Technology attended the China-UK workshop on the project of UK DTI’s CCT Transfer to China, hosted by CCII&NIOS.

 

With support of SAWS, CCII&NIOS completed the Study Project on Occupational Safety via Economic & Social Development. Mr. Wang Xianzheng and Mr. Wang Dexue, Vice Administrators of SAWS, and academicians of the China Academy of Science and China Academy of Engineering attended the study project workshop, and Huang Shengchu, President of CCII&NIOS, gave the presentation on the findings and summary of the study.

 

Mr. Wang Xianzheng, Vice Administrator of SAWS, meeted with officials of the Asian Development Bank and the USEPA , and discussed CBM development in China. Mr. Huang Shengchu, President of CCll & NIOS, joined the meeting. The specialists of the CCII&NIOS have been engaged by the ADB in the project Technical Assistance for the Liaoning Environmental Improvement Project with total investment of US$250 million including three components:
   
Urban central heating system
   
Urban gas distribution system
   
CBM production and environment

As specialist engaged by the ADB, Huang Shengchu, President of CCII&NIOS, has been working together with specialists from USA and Australia on ADB projectsJ Feasibility Studies on CBM Projects at Yangquan and Jincheng of Shanxi Province, and environmental improvement project in Liaoning Province

The Methane-to-Markets Partnership Ministerial Meeting was held in Washington, DC, USA in November 2004. Huang Shengchu participated in the meeting and was elected as the Vice Chairman of Coal ubcommittee at the meeting.The Chinese governmental delegation, led by Mr. Yang
Jiechi, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chinese ambassador to the United States, attended the meeting.

With support of the USEPA, the CCII&NIOS organized the 3rd International Methane & Nitrous Oxide Mitigation Conference,Nov.2003,Kunlun Hotel, Beijing.

Mr. Dou Qingfeng, First Vice President of CCII & NIOS, visits the Natural Resouces Canada for ventilation air methane project in China.

Mr. Huang Shengchu attended the UNECE's meeting on sustainable energy, November 2001 in Geneva, Switzerland and made the presentation on restructuring of coal industry in China.
