On the 8th, March, 2007, National Development and Reform Commission
Climate Office held ”°International Methane to Markets Partnership Expo
Liaison Conference £¦ 2007 Methane to Markets Partnership Expo
Preparatory Conference”± in Hotel Nikko New Century Beijing. Part of
department heads and experts from National Development and Reform
Commission, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Construction,
Ministry of Agriculture, State Administration of Work Safety, China
Petrol-Chemical Corporation, China National Offshore Oil Corporation, as
well as China Coal Information Institute attended the meeting, president
Huang Shengchu, official of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Erin.
Birgfeld and Lauren. Lariviere of U.S ERG Corporation attended the
meeting.
Gao Guangsheng from Development and Reform Commission Climate Office
chaired the meeting, and experts of each filed reported the
determination of the liaison officers for Methane to Markets Partnership
Expo, the progress in methane program as well as the preparation for the
conference. President Huang Shengchu, as the vice president of Coal
Committee of Methane to Markets Partnership Expo as well as the person
in charge of major hosting units, reported the recent progress in coal
field international expert group, the development and utilization as
well as program exploitation of coal-seam gas in China, the preparation
for the conference as well as the work arrangement after the conference.
It was believed that Methane to Markets Partnership Expo carries great
significance; therefore, leaders and experts of relevant departments of
each field expressed their willingness to get actively involved in this
session of international expo and to make full preparation for the expo.
