President Huang Shengchu
Leading the Delegation to Visit the U.S. and to Discuss
Cooperative Project
May 17th to 29th, at the
invitation of U.S.Environmental Protection Agency, President
Huang Shengchu, together with Chief Engineer of JinCheng
Coal Industry Group, Mr. He Tiancai and four others,
investigated Coalbed Methane Development Technology and
discuss about cooperative project in the U.S. They were also
present at the 2007 International Coalbed Methane
Conference.
During this period of time, President Huang and
U.S.Environmental Protection Agency hold meeting about
progress of the project ˇ° Methane to Market in the Field of
Coal Industryˇ± and the preparation for ˇ°2007 M2M Expoˇ±, both
of which are being conducted by the China Coal Information
Institute. He also visited U. S. Trade Development Agency
and World Bank. With the latter, he discussed about the
progress of development and application of coalbed methane,
a project supported by World Bank. Through negotiation, the
two sides agreed on intention for new cooperation. President
Huang also attended the 2007 International Coalbed Methane
Conference held in Alabama University. His lecture at the
conference, entitled ˇ°Status Quo of Coalbed Methane in China
and the Case Studyˇ± attracted wide attention of the
convocators, who expressed their expectation for further
cooperation with China in the field of coalbed methane.
The delegation also attended a two-day technical training
and site inspection. Senior technique director of Target
Drilling Company introduced in detail the coalbed gas
surface directional drilling and the latest progress in
underground directional boring technique. The delegation
also had some communication with Target Drilling Company in
Black Warrior mining area, thoroughly studying the
simultaneous exploitation of coal and gas and purification
of light-concentrated gas.
