(China United Coalbed Methane Co. Ltd., Beijing 100011)Abstract: There are abundant coalbed methane resources in China. Compared with the natural gas development, the coalbed methane development has characteristics such as low output in a single gas well and long payback period. At present, China still lacks in mature coalbed methane development technology and therefore need attract overseas investments and import their advanced technology and management experience. This paper analyses support policies and their successful experience in overseas courtiers, especially in America. It also makes comparison with China's current industrial policies and proposes some suggestions for policies of cooperation with overseas partners in China's colabed methane industry.

Analysis of Misleading Theories in the Progress of Coalbed Methane Exploration
Zhang Suian
(Beijing University of Petroleum, Beijing 102249)Abstract: Based on the analysis of various coalbed methane wells around China, this paper suggests that there are mainly 3 reasons for failures during the progress of coalbed methane exploration: firstly, the misleading of the coalmine gas geological theories; secondly, the misleading of the normal hydrocarbon prospecting theories; thirdly, the misleading of American coalbed methane exploration theories. After many years' practice and exploration of coalbed methane, the writer proposes the coalbed methane exploration theories suitable for China's geological conditions, i.e. the theory of "high percolation and rich gathering area " .

The Fitting of the Coalbed Methane Production Curve and its Output Estimate
Tian Yongdong
(Shanxi Jincheng Anthracite Coal Mining Group Co. Ltd., Shanxi Jincheng, 048006)Abstract: Based on storage parameters of coalbed methane wells and hydro geological data, this paper first calculates the pressure decrease in the coal seam after the drainage and then gets the water output and methane output from wells by integrating parameters such as Lan's formula and threshold stripping pressure. The result will be used to compare with the actual production curve for curve fitting and establishment of reasonable estimating model, which will be used to predict the future output of water and methane in the coalbed methane well. It avoids complex calculations in the data simulation of stripping, expansion and vapour/water movement in the traditional methods.

Langfang Brach, Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development, Lang Fang, Hebei 065007; 3.President Office, SINOPEC, Beijing 100011; 4. Beijing University of Petroleum, Beijing 102249)Abstract£ºAccording to features of coalbed methane bearing seam and properties of CO2, the author discusses the prospect of the application of CO2 foam fracturing in the development of coalbed methane by means of making experience research on CO2 foam fracturing fluid and fracturing process discussion. The result shows that the technology of CO2 foam fracturing is a relatively ideal one for the restructuring of the coalbed methane reservoir. However, because of reasons such as the foam temperature (over 40 ¡æ) and implementation costs, its application in low-temperature seam and low output will be constrained.

(Zhongyuan Oil Field Branch, Puyang, Henan 457164)Abstract: This paper introduces the principle of CH4 desorption in the coal seam and basic features of CO2. In light of the support and implementation capacity of China's current equipment, it proposes the feasibility of the utilization of CO2 huff & puff, CO2 enhanced fracturing and CO2 foam fracturing. According to the current restructuring in our country's coal seams, it further clarifies the importance of making enhanced restructuring of coal seams by the use of CO2 foam fracturing. It suggests that a special topic research should be performed over the coal seam restructuring with the technology of CO2 foam fracturing in order to increase the recovery of coalbed methane.

CBM Resources and Drainage Technologies in Huaibei Coalfield
Fan Jingkun
(Huabei Coal Mining Group Co., Huaibei, Anhui 235006)Abstract: Huaibei Coalfield is located in the inland area of Eastern China, where overall, energy is relatively insufficient. However, proved coal reserves and CBM is abundant, especially in its four synclines. CBM is a clean energy source and a hazard threatening coalmines' safe workings. In order to utilize CBM a drainage technology may be adopted before a coalface is worked with movable CBM pumps directed along the seams. This method needs limited investment and gains immediate economic and safety rewards; and eventually it will make contributions to the gas hazards towards mining activities and its economic performance.
